ucsd是以理工科為主偏重研究的大學(xué),其在生物、化學(xué)、地球科學(xué)、環(huán)境科學(xué)等自然科學(xué)上有非常強(qiáng)的研究實(shí)力,大部分的ucsd的學(xué)生也都主修理科專業(yè),因此學(xué)校的學(xué)習(xí)氛圍濃郁、并且學(xué)生壓力很大。同時(shí)很多教授對(duì)學(xué)術(shù)研究的興趣超過本科教學(xué)。而非理科專業(yè)的學(xué)生在ucsd獲得的機(jī)會(huì)和資源會(huì)少很多。所在的san diego市有很多跟ucsd專業(yè)對(duì)口的企業(yè),學(xué)生有很多實(shí)習(xí)機(jī)會(huì)，很強(qiáng)的理科和工科專業(yè),同時(shí)人文專業(yè)也很齊備。
ucsd所處的周邊環(huán)境很適合生活、有大量的社交活動(dòng)的機(jī)會(huì),但大多ucsd的理科生占主導(dǎo)地位,大部分學(xué)生幾乎只關(guān)注于自身的學(xué)習(xí)和研究,無暇去享受課余生活。
要求sat i和sat ii,競爭激烈,同時(shí)uc本州學(xué)生優(yōu)先、美國本土學(xué)生其次、國際學(xué)生最后考慮的政策也使得ucsd的申請(qǐng)難度加大，
費(fèi)用較貴,且不對(duì)國際學(xué)生提供任何形式的經(jīng)濟(jì)資助。
優(yōu)勢(shì)：一流的教學(xué)質(zhì)量；一流的工程學(xué)院；超強(qiáng)的理科；地理位置好

ucsd是一所理科超強(qiáng)的研究型大學(xué),同時(shí)有出色的本科工科專業(yè),但其他科目明顯偏弱,學(xué)校的學(xué)術(shù)氛圍濃郁、單也因此校園生活很單調(diào)、學(xué)習(xí)壓力較大,適合喜歡鉆研純科學(xué)和做研究的學(xué)生。ucsd的申請(qǐng)要求高、難度較大,同時(shí)費(fèi)用昂貴且不對(duì)國際學(xué)生提供經(jīng)濟(jì)資助。
